Osprey 10K Run / 5K Run-Walk : overview
The Osprey 10K Run / 5K Run-Walk is scheduled for April 25, 2026 in Huddleston, Virginia. The event takes place at Smith Mountain Lake State Park, 1235 State Park Road, Huddleston, VA 24104. It includes two events: a 5K run-walk and a 10K run. The 10K is open to ages 8 to 99. Each event has an entry fee of $30; the price increases after March 4, 2026 at 11:59pm EST.
Race details and services
The event is organized by Friends of Smith Mountain Lake State Park Inc., a volunteer 501(c)(3). Proceeds benefit programs at the park and support environmental stewardship and education. The course follows a paved route through the state park and passes Smith Mountain Lake, wooded areas, and shoreline. The route has rolling hills and finishes with a downhill section. Chip timing will be used and results are displayed after completion. Participants receive recovery drinks, fruit, and energy bars. Awards are given to top finishers and to age group winners for men and women.
