Event overview
Deck the Heels 5K Night Run is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Altavista, VA (400 Broad St, 24517). The event includes an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option. The Claire Parker Foundation is associated with the event and provides ongoing care and emotional support for children and families battling pediatric cancer.
Course and packet pickup
The in-person course begins at the corner of Broad Street and Main Street, proceeds north on Main Street to a turnaround near Lola Ave, returns south across a bridge over the river, continues into Hurt, VA through a tunnel, turns at a stoplight at English Construction in Hurt, and finishes at the corner of Main Street and Broad Street. Packet pickup is at the Booker Building, 400 Broad St, Altavista, VA, on Friday, December 12 (5:00PM - 7:00PM) and Saturday, December 13 (3:00PM - 4:30PM).
Registration, race items, and policies
Registration prices vary by date, with fees listed up to $40 on race day. Long-sleeve unisex shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by November 22. Finishers receive medals. Paper registration is not available. Assisted participants using an appropriate stroller must register both the pusher and the assisted participant; assisted participants start before the main field and are ranked separately. Virtual participants may select a 5K course and submit their time to the results page. Fundraising and referral options can refund part or all of a registration fee under stated conditions.
