ORRRC Englewood 5k Event
The ORRRC Englewood 5k is a running event organized by the Ohio River Road Runners Club (ORRRC). The club is a volunteer-run non-profit organization that supports the local running community around Dayton, Ohio.
Location and Course
The event takes place at Englewood Metropark West Park, located at 100 E. National Rd. in Englewood, Ohio. Participants are instructed to use entrance ER-5 at the intersection of National Road (US 40) and Main Street (US 48). The course is an out-and-back route on a bike path. The first half mile is described as mostly a fast downhill, meaning the final half mile is a noticeable climb back up.
Registration and Fees
Pre-registration is handled through the RunSignup platform. On race day, participants can collect their timing chip at the green registration table.
- ORRRC members: The entry fee is waived.
- Non-members: The fee is $10 for ages 15 and up.
- Youth: Participation is free for ages 14 and under.
Non-members have the option to join the ORRRC during registration. Race day registration is available online until about 15 minutes before the start and hard copy forms are also available.
Event Details
The event is described as one of the club's "small races." It is chip-timed by volunteer timers. While there are no race shirts or general finisher medals, refreshments are provided. Awards are given for top overall finishers and in various masters, grand masters, and senior categories. Ribbons are provided for all participants aged 0–9, and finisher medals are awarded to the top three in numerous age group categories starting from 10–14 up to 80 and up.
