ORRC Best Dam Run - 10K
The ORRC Best Dam Run is a USATF certified 10K event held in Estacada, Oregon. This point-to-point course begins at North Fork Lake and follows the Clackamas River toward the finish line in downtown Estacada. The route includes views of the water, forested areas, and local wildlife such as bald eagles, osprey, and waterfowl.
Participants are transported by bus from downtown Estacada to the starting line, located approximately 6 miles east of the town. The first 4.5 miles of the course take place on Faraday Road, a private road closed to motorized vehicle traffic. The final section of the race transitions to Highway 224, where runners and walkers use a coned bike lane, eventually finishing on 4th Avenue near Broadway Street.
Available event categories include:
- Best Dam Run 10k (Run or Run/Walk)
- Best Dam Run 10k (Walk Only)
Two aid stations are located along the course, providing water and electrolyte drinks at the start and near the three-mile mark. The event features a gear drop service at the start line for belongings to be transported back to the finish area. Post-race activities include food, refreshments, and an awards ceremony near the finish line for overall winners across several divisions. Registration is limited to 750 entrants.
