Event Information
This is the 13th annual running of the Boring Marathon and its associated races. The in-person events are scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026. All races start and finish at Boring Station Trailhead Park in downtown Boring, Oregon.
Distances
The event features four in-person race distances:
- Boring Marathon
- Half Boring Half Marathon
- Constantly Boring 10K
- Somewhat Boring 5K
A virtual option is also offered for all four distances, allowing participants to run on their own schedule between September 15 and 29, 2026.
Course Details
All in-person races take place on the Springwater Trail and follow an out-and-back route. The marathon course consists of two loops of the half marathon route. Both the marathon and half marathon courses are USATF-certified, with the marathon course being a Boston Marathon qualifier.
Participant Information
Parking is available at Boring Middle School, Naas Elementary School, Boring-Damascus Grange, and surrounding neighborhoods, with nearly 100 additional spots added recently. Participants are advised to use SE Wally Road and SE School Avenue to access parking after 6:15 AM, as runners will be crossing SE Dee Street.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday and Saturday before the race at specified locations and times, as well as on race day starting at 5:15 AM at Boring Station Trailhead Park.
Entry limits are in place: 100 for the marathon, 220 for the half marathon, and 140 each for the 10K and 5K. Virtual entries are unlimited. An early start at 5:30 AM is available for marathoners or half marathoners expecting to take longer than six hours. The finish line remains open for all participants, with a seven-hour time limit after which aid stations and traffic control are discontinued.
All entrants receive a medal. Those who register by August 23, 2026, are guaranteed a shirt in their first size choice. Shirts are unisex cut. Residents of Boring's sister city, Dull, Scotland, receive free registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
