Orienteering Ottawa - Lac Beauchamp

Lac Beauchamp orienteering meet

This orienteering event takes place at Lac Beauchamp in Gatineau, a forested area with a complex trail system. It features multiple courses designed for novice, intermediate and advanced orienteers who navigate using a detailed map and a compass.

First time attendees must provide contact information and sign a waiver; providing personal information in advance allows organisers to upload participants to the on site database and can speed up on site registration. The advance information should be submitted at least 48 hours before the event. Final registration and payment are handled on site and there is no charge at the stage of providing advance personal information.

Event logistics include a meeting point shown on a map that will be adjusted in the week before the event. A short introductory clinic covering basic map reading and event procedures is available for newcomers before the event starts. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottles; water will be available but the use of disposable cups will be limited and a clean map bag may be dropped in the onsite recycle box. The organisers run the event rain or shine and suggest a careful tick check after returning from course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
