Oregon Trail Game® 5K, 1 Mile & Kid's Fun Run
The Oregon Trail Game® event takes place on May 23, 2026 in Oregon City. It is presented by the Oregon City Schools Foundation and recreates elements of the 1980s computer game The Oregon Trail® by having participants make decisions along the course that affect a final game score. In addition to a timed result, runners and walkers receive a game score based on those decisions.
Included in the registration fee is an "End of the Oregon Trail" event shirt for participants registered before May 1.
Distances and race options:
- Oregon Trail Game® 5K
- Oregon Trail Game 1 Mile Walk
- Oregon Trail Game® Kids' Fun Run (younger group ~100 yards, older group ~200 yards; untimed)
The course starts and ends at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and passes local landmarks. Course features listed by the organizer include running past the 100-year-old Municipal Elevator, a 223-step stair climb alongside Singer Hill Falls, views of the Willamette River and Willamette Falls, and sections through the historic McLoughlin neighborhood near the Carnegie Library, McLoughlin House and Barclay House.
