Oregon Trail Game 5K
The Oregon Trail Game 5K and a free Kids Fun Run take place in Oregon City on May 29, 2027 at 1726 Washington Street. The event is themed on the 1980s classic computer game The Oregon Trail and uses interactive decision points to simulate a journey from Missouri to Oregon.
Distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile Kids Fun Run
Participants in the 5K receive a timed result and a separate game score based on the decisions made along the course. The course starts and ends at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and passes several local landmarks. Runners pass the 100 year old Municipal Elevator, climb a 223 step stairway alongside Singer Hill Falls, enjoy views of the Willamette River and Willamette Falls, and run through the historic McLoughlin neighborhood by the Carnegie Library, McLoughlin House and Barclay House.
The 5K registration fee is listed as $45. An End of the Oregon Trail event shirt is included with registration for those signed up before May 14. Registrations after May 14 can visit the OCSF merch booth after the race to pick up a shirt if shirts remain available. The event is presented by the Oregon City Schools Foundation and raises funds for book programs snacks and scholarships plus backpacks classroom grants and other local education grants.
