Event Overview
The Ordination Rock Run is a 5k (3.1 mile) fun run held on July 4 in Tamworth, New Hampshire. It marks the start of Tamworth Family Day. The event highlights local arts and culture.
Course Details
This is a point-to-point course starting at Ordination Rock on Cleveland Hill Road and finishing at the Kenneth Brett School. The route is a scenic tour through Tamworth Village, passing landmarks like the Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm, the Barnstormers Theatre, and the Cook Memorial Library. It includes sections on both paved roads and trails (dirt/roots/rocks). The road portions are open to traffic.
Registration and Schedule
Registration costs $20, which includes a bib for the race and raffle, ice cream from Papa Beans, and a commemorative gift. Participants under 18 are free. Packet pickup is at the Kenneth Brett School, with options on July 3 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM and on race day from 7:00 to 7:45 AM. Volunteer transport from the school to the start line is available until 7:45 AM. The race starts at 8:00 AM.
Post-Race and Awards
After the run, Papa Beans ice cream and other refreshments are available at the finish line. A bib raffle is held with prizes from local sponsors. The first finishing runners and walkers by gender receive handmade mugs. Age group winners receive a $5 voucher for the Tamworth Farmer's Market.
