OPSF 50|50 Trail Race
OPSF 50|50 takes place in Owen-Putnam State Forest near Poland, IN, and is presented by the non-profit Indiana Trail Running Association. The event offers multiple trail distances that use a lollipop style course based at Horse Campground.
- 50 mile
- 50K
- 14 mile
- 10K Trail Race
The course is about 90 percent single track and horse trail with some sections of fire road. The layout is a lollipop: a stick from Start/Finish to Aid A and a loop or loops from Aid A through Aid B and back. The 14 mile and 10K consist of a single counter clockwise lollipop. The 50K and 50 mile run multiple counter clockwise iterations with additional loop segments.
This race is cupless. Runners must be able to carry 20 oz of water on their person at all times since no cups are provided at aid stations.
If event capacity is not reached, same day registration may be available. Only credit cards are accepted for registration. Fourteen mile and 10K participants are shuttled from the Owen County Family YMCA for the start; 50 mile and 50K participants park at Horse Campground. Entrants registered by March 1 receive event swag. Finishers receive medals and age group awards. Camping at Horse Campground is available for a fee on a first come basis with limited sites.
