OPSF 50|50 Trail Race
OPSF 50|50 is a trail running event in Owen-Putnam State Forest near Poland, Indiana, organized by the Indiana Trail Running Association. Distances offered include:
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 14 Miler
- 10K Trail Race
The trail course begins at Horse Campground and follows a 14-mile lollipop loop made up of about 90% single track and horse trails with some fire road sections. The layout is a stick from Start/Finish to Aid A and a loop from Aid A through Aid B back to Aid A. The 50-mile distance completes three counterclockwise loops plus an extra loop, the 50K completes two loops plus a bonus short loop, and the 10K and 14-mile races run the loop once. Trails include rolling hills and some technically challenging sections.
This is a cupless event: runners must carry the ability to hold 20 ounces of water on their person at all times because aid stations will not provide cups. Registration details note that cost varies by distance, same-day registration may be available if capacity is not met, and only credit cards are accepted. Registration closes on Mon, Apr 19 at 11:59 PM ET. Packet pick-up is scheduled for the Friday before the event at Civilian Brewing Corps and same-day packet pick-up is available at the Start/Finish. Parking and shuttle arrangements are provided for the 10K and 14-mile participants from the Owen County Family YMCA; 50M and 50K participants park at Horse Campground. Entrants registered by March 1 receive event swag, and age group awards plus finisher medals are given to finishers. Camping at Horse Campground is available on a first come basis for a small fee and requires on-site registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
