Event Details

The OPSF 50|50 is a trail race held in the Owen-Putnam State Forest near Poland, Indiana. The event is organized by the non-profit Indiana Trail Running Association. The course begins at the Horse Campground on Fishcreek Road. It offers four race distances: a 50-mile, a 50k, a 14-mile run, and a 10k trail race.

The Course

The trail races take place on a 14-mile loop course consisting of approximately 90% single-track and horse trails, with some fire road sections. The course layout is described as a "lollipop" shape. The 50-mile and 50k events involve running multiple loops or variations of this course. The race is a cupless event, meaning participants must carry their own hydration (a 20 oz capacity is specified); no cups are provided at aid stations.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the Civilian Brewing Corps. On race day, it is available at the start/finish area. Parking is split by distance: participants for the 50-mile and 50k races park at the Horse Campground. Participants for the 14-mile and 10k races must park at the Owen County Family YMCA in Spencer and take a provided shuttle to the start. Limited camping is available at the Horse Campground for a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
