Vulture Vista Ultra
The Vulture Vista Ultra takes place at DePauw Nature Park in Greencastle, Indiana. This event, now in its third year, features a course set within a reclaimed limestone quarry. The primary route is a 4.5 mile loop that incorporates wooded singletrack, open trails, and views of tall rock walls and quarry cliffs.
Participants can choose from several timed ultra-marathon formats or a single-distance trail run. The loop-based format allows runners to pass through the centralized start and finish area on every lap, making it accessible for support crews and self-supported athletes.
Available distances and categories include:
- 6 Hour Solo
- 6 Hour Relay (2-4 person teams)
- 12 Hour Solo
- 12 Hour Relay (2-4 person teams)
- 4.5 Mile Challenge (single loop option)
The event provides two stocked aid stations featuring standard ultra-marathon nutrition and Tailwind products. The course is clearly marked, and the atmosphere is designed to be straightforward and community-focused. Proceeds from the race support local high school and middle school track and cross country programs, as well as the organization AKC A Kinetic Change.
