Friends of McCormick's Creek 5K Run/Walk
Friends of McCormick's Creek host an annual 5K road race on April 17, 2027 at McCormick's Creek State Park in Spencer, Indiana. The event is part of the Mag 7 Series. The course is described as fast with rolling hills through the state park. Proceeds support projects and events that preserve, restore, manage, and interpret the park's natural and cultural heritage and recreational opportunities.

Registration is available in advance with a listed fee of $25. Race-day registration is accepted at the Nature Center for $30, cash or check only. Packet pick-up takes place at the Nature Center on race day.
Prizes are awarded to top male and female overall runners and walkers. Additional awards go to the top two age group finishers in the 5K Run and the first age group finishers in the 5K Walk. Refreshments and an awards ceremony follow the race.
Participants who register before April 2, 2027 are eligible for a race shirt. Shirts may remain available while supplies last after April 1. A post-race pancakes and sausage breakfast is offered for $5; organizers request purchases be made before April 14. The severe weather policy uses repeated 20 minute delays for thunder or lightning and allows a maximum postponement of 75 minutes before cancellation. No refunds are issued for weather cancellations.
