The Friends of McCormick's Creek 5K Run/Walk takes place on April 18, 2026, in Spencer, IN at McCormick's Creek State Park (250 McCormick's Creek Park Road). The event includes these distances:

The race is the 20th annual running and is part of the Mag 7 Series. The course is in the state park and is described as having rolling hills.
Registration and extras
General registration is $25; registration closes April 17, 2026. Race-day registration is $30 and accepts cash or check only at the Nature Center. Those who register before April 3, 2026, are eligible to receive a race shirt; shirts are available while supplies last after April 2. A post-race pancakes and sausage breakfast is offered for $5; organizers request purchases by April 15, 2026.
Prizes are given to top male and female overall finishers for both the 5K run and walk. Age-group awards go to the top two winners in the 5K run and to the first-place winners in each age group for the 5K walk. Proceeds support projects and events that preserve and interpret the natural and cultural heritage and recreational opportunities of McCormick's Creek State Park.
