Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support 5k Hero Harvest Fun Run
The event is a charity 5k fun run held at Lock 9 Park in Piqua, Ohio (125 E Water St, Piqua, OH 45356). The event is rain or shine and is presented by Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support. All proceeds support programs for veterans, families, widows and active duty service members across all branches.
The course runs south from Lock 9 along the Great Miami River Trail. The route will be marked and a water station will be located at the half-way mark. Race timing is provided by Can’t Stop Running Co and results will be announced at Lock 9 and posted online after the event.
Registration is available online. Fees are $25 for ages 13 and up and $15 for ages 5 to 12. Registered runners and walkers receive a race number, a t-shirt and a post-race snack; registrants must be entered by September 20 to guarantee a t-shirt. Race day check-in takes place at Lock 9 Park.
Divisions are offered for male and female participants in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & up. Awards are given to the top male and female overall and the top three finishers in each age division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
