About the race
The Twentieth Annual Operation Troop Appreciation Veterans Day 5K takes place in Allison Park at Hampton Community Park and includes both an in-person race and a virtual 5K option.
Distances:
- 3.1 Miles Team Challenge, five person team, $75
- 3.1K Virtual 5K, $20
- 3.1 Miles Operation Troop Appreciation Veterans Day 5K, $30
The in-person race follows a scenic course through Hampton Community Park. Race features include goody bag items of participant choice, a long sleeve race T-shirt, entertainment along the course, and a professional disc jockey from Life of the Party Productions. Professional timing services are provided by Miles of Smiles.
Awards and prizes are distributed across multiple categories: awards for the top three finishers in each age group, apple pies for the male and female winners in each of 13 age groups, trophies and awards for Overall and Masters categories, and unique door prizes. Team Challenge winners receive Pittsburgh Penguins tickets. A post-race All American buffet is provided.
