Operation School Bell 5K
The Operation School Bell 5K is an annual fundraiser event organized by Assistance League Norman. The event takes place at Ruby Grant Park in Norman, Oklahoma, with the course start and finish lines located off 36th Street. Proceeds from the event support the Operation School Bell program, which provides new clothing to students within the Norman and Little Axe school districts.
The event features several participation options:
- OSB 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Virtual 5K
The OSB 5K and the 1 Mile Fun Run are held as in-person events at the park. Participants in the 5K can attend an awards ceremony for top finishers following the conclusion of the race, while all participants in the Fun Run receive a participation medal. The Virtual 5K option allows registrants to complete their distance at any time between March 29 and April 4 and upload their results remotely; however, virtual participants do not receive a medal.
Facilities at Ruby Grant Park include on-site restrooms and two parking lots with entrances on 36th Street and Franklin Road. Participant check-in and bib pick-up are available on the day before the race at Henry Home Interiors, or at the park on the morning of the event. Please note that pets are not allowed at this event.
