Operation Hope: AAS 5K/10K for Suicide Awareness
Operation Hope is a community running event organized by the Arnold Air Society at Jordan's Point Park in Lexington, Virginia. The event offers two measured distances and aims to raise awareness for suicide prevention while supporting mental health and connection among cadets, veterans, and community members.
The courses begin at Jordan's Point Park and follow a paved sidewalk onto the Chessie Creek Trail. Both routes feature slight elevation changes, a turn-around cone at the halfway point, and water stations positioned along the course. Registration for the event is free; donations are welcomed. Registration opens October 9, 2026 and closes October 29, 2026.
Practical information includes venue parking at Jordan's Point Park, on Jordan's Point Road, and in the VMI North Post parking lots, with possible additional parking available in town. The event is described as a service project focused on remembrance, support for those who struggle, and building resilience and connection within the local community.
