2027 Operation Enduring Warrior 5k, 10k, & Half
This event offers three distances that run along the C&O Canal next to the Potomac River and finishes near nearby waterfalls. The course is an out-and-back on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change.

The event is chip timed. Runners receive a finisher's medal and a technical event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for those registered before March 10 and extras are distributed first come, first served. A virtual race option is available and walkers are welcome.
Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series and also toward the Winter Series. The race benefits Operation Enduring Warrior, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is described by the organizer as honoring, empowering, and motivating wounded military service members through physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation.
Water and fueling support is provided along each course: seven water stations on the half marathon at the listed mile markers, four on the 10k, and one on the 5k; Gatorade is available at some stations and station locations may change. Packet pickup is available at the event and participants check in on race morning. There is no on-site race registration for this event. Awards are given to top overall finishers and to age group places per the organizer. Banditing is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
