Event overview
The event offers three road race distances that run along the C&O Canal and beside the Potomac River near Great Falls Park, Maryland. The course is an out-and-back on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change. The venue address is 11710 MacArthur Blvd, Potomac MD 20854.

Registration includes chip timing, a finisher's medal, and a technical event shirt for many registrants. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Race registration does not include the park entrance fee; park pass options, including military passes, are handled separately.
Water and support on course vary by distance: the half marathon has seven water stations at approximate mile markers 1.55, 2.8, 5.5, 6.55, 7.6, 10.3, and 11.55; the 10 km has four stations at approximately 1.55, 2.8, 3.4, and 4.65 miles; the 5 km has one station near mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some stations. Restroom facilities are located near the roundabout.
Results are chip timed and posted live, with final results and series points published after the race. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute completion time limit.
