Open Water Swim Challenge & Aquathlon - Cedar Hill State Park
The Open Water Swim Challenge & Aquathlon is a collection of open water swim races and swim-plus-run events held at Cedar Hill State Park, South Boat Ramp in Cedar Hill, Texas on 12 July 2026. Multiple individual and relay aquathlon formats are scheduled alongside separate open water swim waves.
Registration opens 15 October 2025 and closes 1 January 2026. Entry fees vary by event and wave, with listed fees in the source material ranging from $30 to $65. Specific USMS waves are designated for current USMS members; those waves count toward the US South Central Zone Grand Prix and offer a $20 discount when a USMS number is provided.
An adaptive athlete category is included for a 2.4 mile open water swim. Within the context of USA Triathlon, adaptive refers to multisport events for athletes with physical, visual, intellectual, or other impairments. This adaptive category differs from Paratriathlon, which is a stricter, medically-classified competition.

- 1500 m swim
- 2.4 mile swim
- 750 m swim plus 5 km run
- 1500 m swim plus 10 km run
Event formats include individual and two-person relay entries for specified aquathlon distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
