The One In A Million 5K Run/Walk is a charity run/walk held on September 19, 2026, at Lady Bird Johnson Park in San Antonio, Texas. Net proceeds benefit PMP Pals, a global patient and caregiver network that supports people living beyond an Appendix Cancer diagnosis and related conditions such as Pseudomyxoma Peritonei.
The event offers in-person and virtual participation. Only 5K finishers are chip timed and eligible for awards. Awards for the 5K include overall male and female winners and 1st through 3rd place by these age groups: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
Registration includes tiered pricing and discounts. A 10 percent group discount applies when five or more entries are paid together. Early and late registration rates apply in date windows, and there are separate fees for children and virtual participants. Virtual registrants receive a shirt and finisher medal but are not eligible for awards; mailing of packets to continental US addresses is available for an additional charge.
Packet pick-up details are listed as TBD; there is also a race day packet pick-up location at Lady Bird Johnson Park. Educational signs at the event space will provide information about PMP and Appendix Cancer and highlight self advocacy, listening to the body, and exercise as part of health management. PMP Pals uses event proceeds to fund mentoring, one on one contact, community meetings, an annual meet up, card writing, and medical outreach.
