Once Upon a Run : April 19, 2026
Once Upon a Run is a storybook costumed festival and 5K that benefits Newtown Public Library. The event is organized by the Friends of Newtown Public Library, an all-volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Costumes are encouraged. The event is sponsored by Boiron and lists additional sponsors. A raffle is being held for four pairs of tickets to the PGA Championship in May 2026; raffle tickets are sold in person at the library and are available by cash or check only.
Events, fees and location
Events scheduled for the day include a 5K Run, a 1 Mile Walk, a Kids Run, a Food & Beverage Festival, and an Entertainment Festival. Listed fees are: the 5K Run $35 (youth price $20 for ages 5-20), the 1 Mile Walk $20 (youth $20 for ages 5-20), the Kids Run free, the Food & Beverage Festival $35 (youth $20 for ages 5-20), and the Entertainment Festival free. Prices for paid events increase after February 28, 2026. Registration for the Kids Run and the Entertainment Festival closes on April 19, 2026.
