Ona Mission Multisport Adventure 2026
Ona Mission is a multisport event held at Mission Beach and Dunk Island in Queensland on 6 September 2026. The event stages are completed in sequence as paddle, run, paddle, mountain bike and a final run. Entries are available for individuals and for teams of two to four.
The route begins with a paddle from South Mission Beach to Dunk Island, followed by a trail run on island rainforest tracks and a paddle back to the mainland. The mountain bike leg follows a loop north along the beach, over Fenbys Gap and onto a World Heritage rainforest trail, returning to South Mission Beach. The final leg is an out-and-back beach and trail run to the finish. Organisers may change the course before race day.
Two course options are offered with different total distances:
- Short course total 42 km
- Long course total 59 km
Participants must be self-sufficient for water and nutrition on all stages and must wear their race number. Required equipment includes a suitable watercraft and paddle, a non inflatable Type 1 or Type 2 personal flotation device for paddling stages, a dry bag for shoes, running shoes for island and beach runs, and a mountain bike with an approved cycling helmet. E bikes may enter but are classified as non competitive for placings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
