Ona Mission Multisport Adventure 2026
Ona Mission is a multisport event on 6 September 2026 held at Mission Beach and Dunk Island, Queensland. The event combines paddling, island trail running, a return paddle, a mountain bike loop through beach and World Heritage rainforest, and a final beach and trail run. Organisers note the course may be changed before race day.
There are two course options with different total distances and stage lengths. The route includes a paddle to Dunk Island, a trail run on island tracks, a paddle back to the mainland, a mountain bike loop that uses beach, road and the Musgravea Track through rainforest, and a final out-and-back beach run that returns via the Kennedy Walking Track.
Participant categories include Individuals, Teams (2 to 4 person relays) and Juniors. Minimum ages: short course 13 years, long course 18 years. All participants must be self-sufficient for water and nutrition and must wear their race number. Mandatory equipment includes a suitable watercraft and paddle for paddles stages, a Type 1 or Type 2 personal flotation device (no inflatable PFDs), a dry bag for shoes, running shoes for island and beach runs, and an Australian standards cycling helmet for the bike stage. E-bikes may be entered but are non-competitive for placing.
Registrations for 2026 open in April. Every complete registration is entered in a spot-prize draw for a bicycle provided by a club sponsor. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
