Mackays Group BEACHRUNS : Mission Beach
Mackays Group BEACHRUNS is a beach running event at Club Wyndham Resort, Mission Beach in Tropical North Queensland. The course follows the length of greater Mission Beach on sand and offers ocean views of Dunk Island.
Distances offered include:
- 21 km half-marathon along South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach and Mission Beach
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 km Children's Dash
There is also a 12 km team-relay event consisting of a 3 km loop run four times by teams of two to four runners. Teams are entered by a captain who registers and provides a code for team members to use during their individual registration. Age categories listed are Open, Masters, Youth and Children with minimum ages specified for each event and conditions for younger participants in the relay.
Online registration is required and late or on-the-day entries may incur an additional fee for some races. Race numbers are allocated and race day sign-in is organised separately for individual distances and teams. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women overall for each distance and to winning relay teams, with perpetual trophies for relay winners. Food and refreshments are available at the start and finish area.
