Event Overview
The Omaha Marathon is organized by the Omaha Running Club, a local non-profit organization. It will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event offers three distances: a full marathon, a half marathon, and a 5K.
Course and Timing
All courses are USATF-certified and will cover downtown Omaha. The marathon is also a Boston Marathon qualifying event and the 2026 RRCA State Marathon Championship. The marathon has a six-hour time limit, requiring participants to maintain approximately a 13:44 per mile pace, with the course closing at 1 p.m. The half marathon has a four-hour time limit.
Participant Information
Registration is open. Discounts are available for Omaha Running Club members and active or retired military personnel. Participants who change to a shorter distance before the race can do so at no charge. All events are chip-timed, and registered runners receive apparel, a finisher's medal, a branded gift, and post-race refreshments.
Race Day Details
On race day, events start at 7:00 a.m. for the marathon, 7:20 a.m. for the half marathon, and 7:50 a.m. for the 5K. Aid stations are placed approximately every 2.0-3.0 miles on all courses, offering water and Gatorade; GU energy gel is provided for marathoners around mile 16.75. Parking is available near the start/finish area at designated lots. There is no gear check or race day packet pickup.

The event partners with charities, including the Omaha Police Department Foundation, the Council Bluffs Police Department, and Heartland READY. Pace groups are available, and an official mobile app provides event logistics and live tracking. The Omaha Running Club also offers a 20-week marathon/half marathon training clinic.
