Omaha Marathon
The Omaha Marathon is a locally run event presented by the Omaha Running Club. The event offers multiple distances for road runners:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5K
All courses are USATF certified and run through downtown Omaha. The full marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying event and serves as the 2026 RRCA State Marathon Championship. All events are chip timed. Time limits are six hours for the marathon and four hours for the half marathon; marathon participants must maintain roughly a 13:44 minute per mile pace to remain within the event time requirement.
Registered participants receive Omaha Marathon apparel, a finisher medal, a branded gift, and post race refreshments. There are registration discounts for active and retired military and for Omaha Running Club members, plus volunteer options to earn a free race registration.
Logistics include packet pickup the Saturday before the race at Millwork Commons in downtown Omaha; race day packet pickup is not available. Parking is provided near Miller’s Landing and at a Gallup Corporate lot. The Finish Area is in a park setting near Miller’s Landing on the Missouri River and welcomes spectators with lawn chairs. Gear check is not offered.
Aid stations are placed approximately every 2 to 3 miles with Gatorade and water served in 6 oz cups; GU is available for marathoners near mile 16.75. At the finish there are bottled drinks and food items such as pizza, hot dogs, fruit, snacks and cookies. The Omaha Running Club also offers a 20 week marathon and half marathon training clinic and an 11 week women only program. The race benefits several local organizations including police foundations and Heartland READY. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
