Multisport Racing in Wiltshire
The Oldbury White Horse Sprint Triathlon is hosted at the Calne Community Campus and Kingsbury Green Academy. This multisport event features several race formats that utilize the local swimming pool and the surrounding Wiltshire countryside for the cycling and running segments. Participants can choose from various disciplines based on their preferences:
- Triathlon: 250m swim, 20km cycle, and 5km run.
- Triathlon Team Relay: 250m swim, 20km cycle, and 5km run.
- Duathlon: 5km run, 20km cycle, and 5km run.
- Aquabike: 250m swim, 20km cycle, and 300m run.
- Aquathlon: 250m swim and 5km run.
The swimming portion of the events takes place indoors in a swimming pool. The cycling and running courses transition into the outdoor rural landscape. The event is open to participants aged 15 and over. In addition to the main competitive categories, there is a free family fun run and space available for picnics.
The venue at Calne Community Campus offers ample free parking for attendees. For those using public transport, the nearest bus stop is located at the Strand, which is serviced by links from Swindon and Chippenham railway stations.
