Oldbury White Horse Sprint Events
Oldbury White Horse Sprint Events take place at Calne Community Campus in Wiltshire on Sunday 2nd May 2027. The event has an entry field of approximately 250 and entries are open. The minimum age for the main races is 15; the fun run is open to all ages and is free for friends and family at registration.
Races and distances
- Triathlon - 250 m swim (25 m pool), 20 km cycle (road), 5 km run (road/grass)
- Team Triathlon - 250 m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Duathlon - 5 km run, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Aquabike - 250 m swim, 20 km cycle, 300 m run
- Aquathlon - 250 m swim, 5 km run
- Fun Run - 1.5 km run (grass)
Swim uses a 25 m pool with a Smart Start System and a snake-style lane format; swimmers start in the shallow end. The swim is typically around 28.5°C. The cycle is a single out-and-back on roads open to traffic, with a mandatory foot-down stop junction; the run is an out-and-back route through countryside with mixed terrain (approx one third grass, two thirds tarmac).
Electronic timing provides split times and online updates. Awards include 1st to 3rd open and female overall for each race and a bespoke finisher medal. Hydration stations and light finish-line refreshments are provided. Ample free parking is available at the campus with an overflow area on the school tennis courts; public transport access is via the Strand bus stop served by Stagecoach 55.
