Oldbury White Horse Sprint Events
Oldbury White Horse Sprint Events take place at Calne Community Campus, White Horse Way, Calne, Wiltshire on Sunday 2 May 2027. The event includes a range of short-course multisport races with an entry field of approximately 250.
Races available include:
- Triathlon: 250m pool swim (25m pool), 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Team Triathlon: 250m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Duathlon: 5 km run, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Aquabike: 250m swim, 20 km cycle, 300m finish
- Aquathlon: 250m swim, 5 km run
- Fun Run: 1.5 km run (grass)
Swim details: the pool swim is 10 lengths using a Smart Start System with swimmers released every 20–30 seconds in a snake-style lane pattern. The pool start and finish are in the shallow end; typical pool temperature is about 28.5°C.
Course notes: the cycle is a single out-and-back on open roads and includes a mandatory foot-down stop junction. The run is an out-and-back through Wiltshire countryside with a steady decline on the way out and mixed terrain (approximately one third grass, two thirds tarmac).
Entries and rules: entries are open. The event is permitted by Triathlon England and will have technical officials present. Minimum age for the multisport races is 15; the fun run is open to all ages. Entrants must provide Triathlon England membership or purchase a race pass for participation.
Facilities and services: electronic timing with split times, bespoke finisher medals, hydration points with recyclable cups, light snacks at the finish, on-site food vendors, event photography and video capture, and massage therapy. Dogs are not permitted on the playing fields. Camping is not available. Ample free parking is provided at the venue with an overflow car park on the school tennis courts; a nearby bus stop offers links from Swindon and Chippenham with about a 10 minute walk to the campus.
Additional notes: aquabike racers finish timing at the end of the bike section and must progress to the finish area to return timing chips and receive medals. Swim caps are optional; reusable caps should be left poolside. Bulk entry discounts are offered for multiple ticket purchases according to set thresholds.
