Course, logistics and fundraising
Run loops are roughly 3.5–3.75 miles of singletrack and gravel with about 550 ft of climb and descent per lap. Ride loops are about 8 miles of singletrack and gravel with roughly 1,000 ft of gain and loss per lap. Both courses start and end near Camp Grier Lake with a common start/finish and a tent village for crews. One aid station will be located near the start/finish area. Crews may use a single 10x10 tent area in the tent village. Pacers are allowed for 12-hour run participants under race rules.
The event raises money for the Old Fort Strong Fund. Organizers list a donation goal of $500,000 for this event and an overall fundraising target of $2 million for the fund. All participants are required to act as fundraisers. All entrants receive a branded race t-shirt and race sticker; awards and raffle items are provided by sponsors.
