2026 Oktoberfest 5k & 10k
2026 Oktoberfest 5k & 10k is an evening road event that starts and finishes near Port City Brewing in Alexandria, Virginia. The course follows along Holmes Run and includes some scenic views of the water.

The route is a fairly flat, paved course with a short section of light gravel on the initial out-and-back. The 10 km course is the out-and-back run repeated twice. The event is chip timed and includes five water stations on the 10 km course at approximately mile markers 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2, and two water stations on the 5 km course at approximately mile markers 1 and 2.1. Gatorade will be available at some stations.
Participants receive one glass of beer from Port City Brewing, a finisher medal, and a technical DriFit event shirt. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before September 9; additional shirts are ordered after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered, though sizes cannot be guaranteed for day-of registrations. Live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Sippin Series. The event benefits NoVA Rugby. Awards are given to the top 3 men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in multiple age categories; top 3 overall finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
