Oklahoma Celtic Breakaway
The Oklahoma Celtic Breakaway is a community running event in Norman, Oklahoma, held on November 7, 2026, at 1001 East Robinson St. The event includes two distances and supports the Oklahoma Celtic player scholarship fund while highlighting a seasonal community initiative.
Two event options are offered:
- 3.1 Miles Celtic 5k
- 1 Mile Celtic Fun Run/Walk
The Celtic 5k includes timing chips for racers. Participants receive a medal and a coordinating race bib; a T-shirt is available as an add-on for $15.00. Registration fees in 2026 are $35.00 for the Celtic 5k and $20.00 for the Celtic Fun Run/Walk. Event amenities include a coffee truck called Beanstalk, additional food trucks, DJ music by Nexxus productions, and finish line activities.
A percentage of proceeds in 2026 will support an Oklahoma Celtic alumnus through a community fundraising effort to assist with medical and rehabilitation expenses. The Oklahoma Celtic Football Club was founded in 1976 to develop youth players and provide a pathway from recreational soccer to higher competition; the club also emphasizes technical development and a family-focused environment.
