About the race
The Okemos Wolf Run and Walk takes place at Okemos High School and includes multiple stadium and community races for a range of ages. The event combines timed road and stadium races with family-friendly activities and community festivities.
Distances and stadium events:
- 5K Wolf Run & Walk : course begins and ends at the Okemos High School athletic stadium, two loops mixing closed roads, trails, and sidewalks.
- 100 m Kids Sprint : open to ages 11 and under, run or walk on the track.
- 1600 m Family Mile Run : four laps around the track, open to all ages.
The 5K includes official chip timing provided by the Michigan Running Foundation. Race awards for the 5K are sponsored by DICK's Sporting Goods and include gift card prizes for overall and age group winners across several age categories.
The event supports P.A.W.S., the school district mascot program, and will provide Wolf Run Impact Grants of $500 each to the Okemos Woof Pack, the Okemos Cheer Team, and the Okemos Dance Team; if the event reaches 500 registered participants those grants will double to $1000 each. Additional activities at the stadium include the Mascot Trot, bounce houses, music, performances by school teams, shopping vendors, and free admission to stadium festivities. Participants who register by the event deadlines are guaranteed event t-shirts and participation medals; some events include different registration deadlines.
