48th Annual Oglesby Turkey Trot
The 48th Annual Oglesby Turkey Trot is a 3 Mile run/walk held on November 26, 2026, at the Elks Lodge, 800 East Walnut, Oglesby, IL 61348. The event begins and ends at the Elks Lodge and carries a registration fee of $30 for the 3 Mile event.
Pre-race packet pickup is available the day before at the Oglesby Elks. Limited race day registration is available. Entrants must check in on race day. Paper applications are available through the Starved Rock Runners and may be mailed to the club’s PO Box in LaSalle, IL.
Awards are given for male and female categories overall and in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.
A kids fun run for ages 12 and under takes place after the main event; participation is free and gifts are provided to participants who sign a waiver. A family mail-in discount option is offered for four registrants from the same address for $90, with $20 for each additional participant and separate entry forms required. Starved Rock Runner Club members receive a $5 discount applied at checkout.
On-course guidance asks participants to know the course and remain on the far side of the roadway except when passing. Water and refreshments will be available at the finish line. Post-race offerings include beer for those 21 and older with ID, soda, and Thanksgiving dressing. The first 900 registered will receive a commemorative stocking cap. No refunds are offered; if the event is canceled donations are appreciated. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
