48th Annual Oglesby Turkey Trot
The 48th Annual Oglesby Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026 in Oglesby, Illinois. The main event is a 3 mile run/walk that begins and ends at the Elks Lodge, 800 E. Walnut St., Oglesby, IL 61348. There is also a kids fun run for ages 12 and under held after the Turkey Trot; the kids run is free and participants must sign a waiver.
Race details and logistics
The entry fee for the 3 mile event is $30. Registration opens January 1, 2026. A $5 discount is applied automatically for Starved Rock Runner Club members. A family mail-in discount is available: four registered from the same address for $90, with $20 for each additional participant; separate entry forms and proof of residency may be required. Pre-race packet pickup is available at the Oglesby Elks on the day before the race. Limited race-day registration and day-of check-in are offered. Age-group awards are given for male and female finishers including overall, 9 and under, 10-12, 13-16, and five-year bands up to 75+. Water and refreshments will be available at the finish line. Post-race items include free soda, free Thanksgiving dressing, and complimentary beer for age 21+ with ID; the first 900 registrants receive a commemorative stocking cap.
