Officer Shawn Silvera Memorial 5K
The event is a memorial 5K presented by The Invisible Wounds Project to benefit veterans, first responders, and their families. The day combines a 5K race, a 1 Mile Walk, and a children’s 50-yard Daisy Dash, plus a vendor fair and awards.

- 50-yard Daisy Dash (children 10 and under)
Race logistics include packet pick-up and same-day registration at the IWP Center, with a pre-registration fee listed and higher same-day fees for runners and walkers. Walkers are not timed and receive participant numbers without timing chips. The 5K route starts at the IWP Center, proceeds south along Hardwood Creek Trail, and returns to the start/finish line. Walkers follow Hardwood Creek Trail north to a turnaround and return.
Teams can enter the Public Safety Challenge or the Civilian 5K Challenge. Public Safety teams require at least four runners and must include at least two current or former first responders; team scoring uses the best three finishing places. Civilian teams may include any runners and use the top three finishers to determine team results.
Awards cover age groups, overall winners, top first responder finishers, and special recognitions such as oldest and youngest finisher, largest team, best team name, best costume, top fundraiser, and a "Spirit of Shawn" award. Vendor booth space is offered at no cost with an optional donation request from event-day profits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
