Ocracoke Island Turkey Trot
The Ocracoke Island Turkey Trot is an annual running event held on Thanksgiving Day in Ocracoke, North Carolina. The event celebrates its 12th year and features a timed race through Ocracoke Village. Participants can choose between two primary event formats:
- 5K
- Virtual 5K
The course takes participants through the local village area, starting at the 1718 Brewery located on Irvin Garrish Highway. The event is open to individuals who wish to run, walk, or stroll the distance. Registration includes a commemorative shirt and a finisher medal for all participants.
For those unable to attend the physical event in North Carolina, a virtual option is available. Participants in the virtual category complete the 5K distance at their own location and receive their shirt and medal via mail.
