Zydeco Marathon : March 7-8, 2026 (Lafayette, LA)
The Zydeco Marathon is a two-day running event in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana. The weekend includes a 1 Mile fun run and a 5K on Saturday and the full marathon, half marathon and team relay on Sunday. A Finish Line Festival on Sunday at Parc International includes live music, food and drink options. The 2026 event is hosted by Funraisers for St Jude Inc. All proceeds from Zydeco Marathon 2026 will go to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The organizer reports having sent $970,000 to St Jude since 2020. The marathon and half marathon are USATF sanctioned and the courses are USATF certified; the marathon is listed as a qualifying event for races that require official qualifying times.

Timed events use chip timing by Pelican Timing; the 1 Mile fun run is not timed. Age minimums stated in event details: full marathon (16+), half marathon and relay (13+), 5K (open to ages listed), 1 Mile reserved for children 12 and under. Participants in most events receive a race bib, race bag, race shirt and a finisher medal upon completion; 5K participants receive a 5K race shirt and medal, and 1 Mile participants receive a finisher ribbon. The course will be marked and staffed with volunteers and traffic control officers. Hydration stations are spaced at approximately 1.5 mile intervals. Medical staff are located at the finish line and EMS services are notified in advance. Packet pickup is available before race weekend and late registration is offered at packet pickup; entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
