2027 Zydeco Marathon
The Zydeco Marathon event takes place over two days in Lafayette, Louisiana, with the start and finish area located at Parc International. The event includes a variety of distances held on Saturday and Sunday, catering to different ages and participation styles.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 26.2 Miles (Full Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (2-Person Relay)
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 1 Mile (Fun Run)
The 1 Mile Fun Run is held on Saturday and is specifically for children aged 12 years and younger; this event is not timed. The 5K also takes place on Saturday and is chip timed, as are the Sunday events which include the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and Relay. Minimum age requirements apply for the longer distances, with a minimum age of 13 for the Half Marathon and 15 for the Full Marathon.
A partnership with Ainsley's Angels provides specific registration categories for individuals pushing riders in wheelchairs across the 26.2 Miles, 13.1 Miles, and 3.1 Miles distances.
The event operates a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy. Registrants for the Sunday races receive a race bib, bag, shirt, and a finisher's medal upon completion. A finish line festival featuring food, drinks, and music is held on both days. Participants must present a photo ID at packet pick-up to receive their race materials.
