Ocean's 26.2 Relay Race and 6k run and Ruck
This event offers a marathon distance relay and separate 6k run and ruck held at the Hammock Community Center in Palm Coast, Florida. The marathon distance is organized as a three loop course with the start, finish and exchange area in the same location. The Atlantic Ocean runs nearby for much of the course. The loop layout reduces the need to drive between exchanges and keeps teams in a common transition area.
Distances
- 26.2 miles team relay for 2 or 3 members.
- 26.2 miles solo marathon with a 6 1/2 hours cutoff.
- 6k run and ruck on the Mala Compra Trails loop.
The 6k course is mostly on hard packed trail and boardwalk with some sidewalk along A1A and Mala Compra Road. 6k participants receive a custom beanie, a finishers medal, food at the finish, and awards for top finishers including masters categories. Relay teams are categorized as male, female, or coed; ruck relay teams follow the same categories. Each team must designate a team captain who registers and pays for the full team before inviting other members to register.
Awards include top three placements for team categories and 6k individual categories. The event partners with Sombrero Outreach Foundation, a 501c3 organization with a mission to strengthen the community and support those with financial need.
