Event overview
Ocean's 26.2 Relay Race and 6k Run and Ruck is a multi-format event held in Palm Coast, Florida, at the Hammock Community Center (79 Mala Compra Rd). The event offers team relays, a solo marathon option, and 6k distances for runners and ruckers. Registration closes on Fri, Jan 2 at 11:59 PM ET.
Distances
- 26.2 miles relay for teams of 2 or 3
- 26.2 miles solo marathon
- 6k (3.7 miles) run
- 6k (3.7 miles) ruck
Format and categories
Relay teams are composed of 2 or 3 participants and follow a relay format where one team member runs while others remain in the transition area. Teams are categorized as Male, Female, or Coed. Ruck relay teams use the same team format. Each team must have a designated team captain who registers and pays for the entire team and then invites members to register. The solo marathon has a 6.5 hour cutoff time.
Course and logistics
The main course is a three-loop course that starts, ends, and has exchanges at the same location. The route runs near the Atlantic Ocean and uses the Mala Compra Trails. Most of the 6k course is on hard-packed trail and boardwalk, with the remainder on sidewalk along A1A and Mala Compra Rd; 6k participants run the second loop once. Course maps and parking/team setup layouts are provided by the organizer.
Awards and charity
Awards are planned for top teams and individuals, including top 3 in men's, women's, and co-ed team divisions and top finishers in the 6k and masters categories. Ruck relay award details depend on entry numbers; a first-place ruck team award and a random GO RUCK pack giveaway are noted. The event partners with the Sombrero Outreach Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
