Occoneechee State Park 2026 Annual Turkey Trot
The event takes place at Occoneechee State Park in Clarksville, Virginia, on November 14, 2026. The park borders John Kerr Lake and the courses pass lakefront and wooded areas.
Distances include:
- 1 mile kids fun run for children 13 and under.
- 5K run on paved roads with rolling hills and lake views.
Children in the 1 mile event may be accompanied by a parent and strollers are allowed. All children who participate in the kids run receive a medal. The 5K is officially timed and measured. Well-mannered leashed pets and costumes are welcome for the 5K. Medals will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers of the 5K and age-group awards will also be presented.
Participants receive swag bags and refreshments. Race packets will be available on the day of the event. Standard registration opens August 1, 2026 and closes November 8, 2026; late and day of registration are offered per event details.
Park entry fee is listed as seven dollars or the option to donate four cans of food to the local food bank. Proceeds support park projects and enhancements.
