About the race
Oberun is a 5K community run held with start and finish at Wiard's Orchard in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The course is described as flat and follows a mix of paved and dirt paths through Wiard's Orchard and Rolling Hills County Park. The event is runner and walker friendly and allows 60 minutes to complete the 5K.
Packet pickup is offered on multiple days: Tuesday, July 14 (6:00 PM–8:00 PM) at Sidetrack Bar & Grill; Thursday, July 16 (3:00 PM–6:00 PM) at Fleet Feet Ann Arbor West; and on race day at Wiard's Orchard beginning in the afternoon. Bell's representatives are listed as present at early pickup with beer samples and limited promotional items.
There is one aid station on course providing water; participants may bring additional fluids if desired. The post-race area includes a beer garden presented by Bell's Brewery featuring Oberon, live music, lawn games, and food trucks where vendors may accept cash.
Awards include a finisher bottle opener medal and an aluminum cup. Overall awards are based on gun time, and age group awards are given 3 deep in 5-year age groups based on chip time. The event lists the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative as a charity partner supporting the Border to Border Trail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
