Oak Ridges Moraine Adventure Relay 2026
The event takes place on the Oak Ridges Moraine with a base at Gores Landing, Ontario. It is a human powered relay combining canoeing, biking, and running on a mix of trails and roads. The event date is June 13, 2026.
Distances offered
- Full Relay: ~160 km of canoeing, biking, and running.
- Half Relay: ~90 km covering the first half, no canoe leg.
The full route begins with a canoe leg on Rice Lake and proceeds west across the moraine toward York Region. The biking portion is divided into six stages totaling about 95 km on mixed trail, sand, gravel, and pavement. The run and hike portion is divided into seven stages totaling about 55 km of rolling trail terrain.
Teams may include up to 15 members for the full relay and up to 7 members for the half relay. Two divisions are offered, Elite and Recreational, with different timing methods for each division. Checkpoints provide water and snacks, and participants are expected to be self sufficient between checkpoints. The relay also functions as a fundraiser for the Oak Ridges Trail Association to support trail maintenance and awareness of the moraine.
