St Patrick's Day 5K - Peterborough
The St Patrick's Day 5K is a 5 km run and walk event held in downtown Peterborough, Ontario. The event takes place on a Sunday in March.
The course goes down the centre of a traffic-free George Street. The start and finish are near the Peterborough Memorial Centre. The event is chip-timed and results are available online. There is a 30-minute time limit to reach the halfway point.
The event implements several eco-friendly measures. Race t-shirts are not provided; participants are encouraged to wear a green shirt or a St. Patrick's Day themed outfit. Package-free snacks, such as fruit, are served. Participants are asked to bring a reusable water bottle.
Race kit pickup and race day registration are available. Parking, washrooms, and a hydration station with water, coffee, and hot chocolate are available at the Memorial Centre. Baby joggers and dogs (not allowed inside the PMC) are welcome.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female in each age group. An award is also given for the best costume. Age group winners receive sunglasses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
