Peterborough Butterfly Run 2026
The Peterborough Butterfly Run marks its 10th anniversary in 2026. Held at Millennium Park in Peterborough, Ontario, the event raises awareness and funds to support individuals and families who have experienced pregnancy loss, child loss, or infertility.
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- 5 km Run/Walk: The traditional route from Millennium Park into East City.
- 1 km Kids Fun Run: A short distance designed specifically for children.
- 1 km Memorial Walk: A free commemorative walk.
- 5 km Virtual Butterfly Run: An option for those unable to attend in person, including a race kit and medal.
All registered participants receive a race medal and a customizable bib that can be personalized with a loved one's name. For the 5 km distance, a race t-shirt is provided to those who register by the early April deadline. High-fundraising individuals and children are also eligible for specific prizes based on their contributions.
The proceeds from the event support local initiatives, including specialized bereavement education for healthcare providers, lending libraries for pregnancy and infant loss resources, and comfort kits for grieving families. Race kit pickup is organized in downtown Peterborough during the days leading up to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
