NYRR Midnight Run
The NYRR Midnight Run is a seasonal running event held in Central Park, Manhattan. Participants celebrate the transition into the new year by completing a run that begins exactly as the clock strikes midnight. The event coincides with a fireworks display that illuminates the sky to mark the start of the race.

The course is located within Central Park, with the start area situated near the Naumburg Bandshell at West 72nd Street. This event is a scored race and serves as a qualifier for the 9+1 program, which provides a pathway for guaranteed entry into the TCS New York City Marathon for eligible NYRR members.
Participants receive a winter accessory as a souvenir for the event. Logistics for the race include race number pickup at the NYRR RUNCENTER in the days leading up to the event; there is no bib pickup available at the park on the night of the run. To support sustainability, the organizers use reusable hydration cups in collaboration with Cup Zero, and runners are requested to return these to designated receptacles after finishing.
Awards are presented on-site to the top three finishers in the overall men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Age-group awards are also available for those placing in the top three of their respective categories through a post-race claim process.
