NYRR Midnight Run
The NYRR Midnight Run is a scored 4-mile race held in Central Park on December 31, 2026. The event begins with a countdown into the new year and a fireworks display that marks the start of the race. The course uses the area near the Naumburg Bandshell on West 72nd Street in Manhattan.
The race is eligible for NYRR 9+1 credit and counts toward guaranteed entry into the 2027 TCS New York City Marathon for participants who meet program requirements. Entry fees range from free to a paid tier; paid entries may include registration fee protection options.
Race operations include timed bibs, live unofficial runner tracking via the NYRR app, and official results posted after the event. Awards will be presented to the top three overall finishers in the men, women, and nonbinary divisions, and age-group place finishers can claim awards afterward. The event souvenir is a winter accessory.
Pre-race number pickup is available at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street. Bag check accepts only clear bags no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep. NYRR provides accessibility accommodations and a member-only standby list for members who wish to register if entries become available. Entry fees are non-refundable and events canceled by authorities will not be rescheduled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
