NYRR Cross Country Series #1
The event is a scored cross country race organized by New York Road Runners at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The advertised competition distance is 5K held on the park's trails as part of an autumn cross country series.
This race is the first in a three-race NYRR Cross Country Series, with additional race dates listed on Sunday, October 4 and Sunday, November 15. Entry fees are shown from $0.00 to $21.15. NYRR offers a Member-Only Standby List for members who may be invited to register if entries become available after initial registration.
Youth programming is included on race day through Rising NYRR; kids ages 2 to 18 may participate in race-day activities with free registration provided. NYRR also runs the NYRR Race Free program to provide fee assistance and complimentary entries for qualifying participants; the 2026 application period is closed.
Race resources note bib pickup at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street in Manhattan. Proxy pickup is permitted with the registered athlete's QR code and matching photo identification. Bag check requires clear bags no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep.
Live unofficial results and runner tracking are available in the NYRR App during the event; official results are posted after the race. Awards are presented on site to the top three overall in men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Entry fees are non-refundable and events canceled by authorities will not be rescheduled.
