NYPD Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The NYPD Memorial 5K Run/Walk is a 5-kilometer event in Manhattan. The in-person course begins on Liberty Street and West Street and finishes on West Street within a block of the start. Pre-race and post-race amenities, including bib pickup, are located on Liberty Street between South End Avenue and West Street.
A memorial service takes place at the NYC Police Memorial Wall near the Battery Park City Esplanade and Liberty Street. Registration is not yet open. Registration includes an event T-shirt, a personalized bib, and a memorial towel.
Packet pickup options include a pre-race in-person pickup at Midtown South Police Precinct (357 W 35th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) and a day-of-race pickup on Liberty Street between South End Avenue and West Street. Family and friends may pick up bibs for each other. Virtual entries receive packets shipped to them, with a shipping window that spans roughly one week before to one week after the event. Runners must know their bib number to pick up a packet; a self-lookup area is provided and late registrants can receive their bib number by text.
Awards are presented across multiple categories, including top three male and female overall, law enforcement, masters (40 and over), law enforcement masters, and standard age-group divisions. Awards will not be duplicated and law-enforcement awards take precedence over other categories except overall winners.
The event partners with the Metro New York Chapter of Concerns Of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), and proceeds support services for surviving families and affected co-workers of NYPD officers who died in the line of duty. Live results, video, and same-day finish-line photos are available online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
