NYPD Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The NYPD Memorial 5K Run/Walk is organized in Manhattan with the course running along Liberty Street and West Street. The route begins on Liberty Street at West Street and finishes on West Street within a block of the start. The course is USATF certified.
A pre-race memorial service is held at the NYC Police Memorial Wall near the Battery Park City Esplanade and Liberty Street. Proceeds from the event benefit the Metro New York Chapter of Concerns Of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), supporting surviving families and affected co-workers of NYPD officers who died in the line of duty.
Registration for the forthcoming edition is not yet open; information from prior editions is provided for reference. Registration in recent editions included an event T-shirt, a personalized bib, and a memorial towel. Packet pickup options have included an in-person pre-race pickup location at Midtown South Police Precinct, 357 W 35th Street, and a day-of-race pickup on Liberty Street between South End Avenue and West Street. Virtual entries have received shipped race packets. Family and friends have been permitted to pick up packets on behalf of participants, and a bib lookup has been available for those who do not know their bib number.
Awards have covered multiple categories, including overall top three male and female, law enforcement divisions, masters 40 and over, law enforcement masters, and standard age-group awards with no duplication of awards where law enforcement awards take precedence when applicable.
