NYCRUNS Summer Loving 5K
The NYCRUNS Summer Loving 5K takes place on Governors Island, offering a dedicated running environment with views of the New York Harbor and the city skyline. The event features a USATF-certified course consisting of a single loop around the island.
Participants have access to a central Festival Area located a short distance from the ferry terminal. This area serves as the hub for pre-race and post-race activities, including bib and shirt pickup, bag storage, and restrooms. The start and finish lines are located in close proximity to this central area.

The event uses a pace-based corral system to organize the start. Standard amenities provided to participants include water and electrolyte fluids at stations along the course and at the finish line. After completing the distance, runners can access refreshments such as fresh fruit and bagels.
Registration includes the ferry transportation for both runners and their guests from the Battery Maritime Building in Manhattan. The race giveaway item is a technical shirt, which is distributed on-site. Due to the number of turns on the route, the organizers do not recommended this specific course for handcycle or wheelchair athletes.
