NYCRUNS Summer Loving 5K
The NYCRUNS Summer Loving 5K is a USATF-certified, one-loop 5K on Governors Island with views of New York Harbor and the city skyline. Race entry includes a ferry ride for the runner and any guests, an official tech shirt, and post-race refreshments.
The Festival Area is a short walk from the ferry terminal and houses bib and shirt pickup, bag check, portable bathrooms, and the start and finish area. NYCRUNS uses pace-based start corrals labeled AA through F; corral assignment appears on the bib and is based on the pace listed in the runner dashboard.
Amenities and procedures are specified in advance. Bag check requires a single clear bag (NYCRUNS will provide one if needed) and items may be searched. Water and electrolyte fluids will be available on course and at the finish. Post-race provisions include fresh fruit and a bagel. Tech shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Race photos are provided by the event photographer and claimed via email after the race.
Bibs are picked up in the Festival Area on race morning with a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members can opt to have their bib mailed at no charge, while non-members may add mailed bib service for a fee. Mailed bibs require registration at least 20 days before the event and a U.S. mailing address. Shirts are not mailed with bibs.
Results will be emailed and posted after the race. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall by gun time, and to the top three in each age group by net/chip time (age groups range from 9 and under through 70 and over). Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised because the course includes many turns. Event policies include no strollers or dogs, potential disqualification for hazardous use of earbuds, prohibition of confetti cannons, and enforced time limits on course support and official finishes. Member pricing benefits include a 20% discount; member entry fees range from $36 to $48 while non-member fees range from $45 to $60 depending on registration date.
