About the race
The NYCRUNS Spring Fling 10 km is scheduled for April 3, 2027 on Governors Island (Colonels Row, New York, NY). The course consists of two loops around the island and is USATF-certified. Medical support is available along the course and at the finish.
The Festival Area, a short walk from the ferry terminal, handles bib and shirt pickup, bag check, and bathrooms. Start corrals are assigned by pace and labeled AA through F; assignments come from the runner profile in the NYCRUNS dashboard. Bag check requires a single clear bag; a clear bag (18 x 24 inches) will be provided if needed. Bathrooms are available in the Festival Area and on course just past each fluid station. Fluid stations provide cups of water and Gatorade.
Post-race refueling includes cups of water and Gatorade, an apple, and a bagel with schmear. Every participant receives an official race tech shirt; shirts are available for pickup on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Race photos include one free downloadable image and optional paid packages.
Bibs may be mailed to active NYCRUNS members at no charge if registered 20 days or more before the event and sent to a U.S. address; shirts are not mailed. If a bib is not mailed, pickup is race morning in the Festival Area using a unique QR code. The Governors Island Ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street; there is no charge to ride the ferry on race morning. Mass transit directions and a Citi Bike station are noted for access.
Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are advised this course has many turns and may not be suitable. Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time, with age-group awards by net/chip time across standard age ranges. Standard no-refunds, no-transfers policies apply; NYCRUNS members may withdraw for race credit. Time limits are enforced and participants who fall behind pace may be directed off course for safety.
