NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K: Benefiting CAMBA
The NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K takes place on April 12, 2026 in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The event is a 5K course made up of just under one full loop around the park with a final sprint up Center Drive. The course is USATF-certified.
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Bib pickup, gear check, bathrooms, and shirt distribution take place in the Festival Area. The race finishes on Center Drive, which returns participants to the Festival Area.
Amenities include a bag check that requires a single clear bag, portable bathrooms, on-course and finish hydration with water and electrolytes, and post-race refreshments including bagels with a schmear and fresh fruit. Race giveaways are a Tech Shirt and a Finisher Medal; shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Participants receive one complimentary race photo with options to purchase additional images.
The event benefits CAMBA, which serves over 80,000 people a year. Registration donors may support programs such as emergency food distribution, baby supply packages, workforce training and Home Health Aide certification, and college access support. NYCRUNS members receive a discount and may be eligible for bib mailing and other member benefits. Awards include top-three overall male, female, and non-binary places and age-group prizes; prize money is offered for qualifying members.
