NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K

The NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K takes place on April 11, 2027 in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. The event is a single 5K race on a course that covers just under one full loop of the park with a final sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified.

The event benefits CAMBA. The organizer offers entry registrants the option to donate to CAMBA, which serves over 80,000 people a year. Examples of support listed by the organizer include a $250 package of essential baby supplies for a new mom in a family homeless shelter, $500 for emergency food supplies for families, $1,000 to support job training and a Home Health Aide certification for an unemployed English language learner, and $2,500 to help a high school senior through a College Bound program.

The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and can be reached via Center Drive or walking paths off Well House Drive. Bibs are available for pick up only on race day in the Festival Area and require a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may have bibs mailed at no extra cost or non-members may add mailing for an extra fee subject to registration timing and U.S. address limits. Start corrals use a pace based system labeled AA through F and are located on Well House Drive.

Amenities include bag check with a single clear bag provided (18 by 24 inches), portable bathrooms, water stations on course, post race refreshments that include water, Gatorade, an apple, and a bagel with schmear, a race tech shirt distributed on race day only, a finisher medal, and race photos with a free downloadable image option. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are supported and designations can be managed in the runner profile. Pricing varies by date with member discounts and race credit options; registration closes the day before the event or earlier if capacity is reached. Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non binary finishers overall by gun time, and to the top three in each age group by net time for ages 9 and under, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. The race is also a qualifying event for the NYCRUNS Local Elite Athlete Race Entry Program with specified time standards and membership requirements.
