NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K

The NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K is an annual running event held in Brooklyn, New York. The race serves as a benefit for CAMBA, a community-based organization that provides services including food pantries, homelessness prevention, and college access programs. The event is open to a variety of participants, including those in the Handcycle and Wheelchair Divisions.

The course consists of:

The route is USATF-certified and features just under one full loop around Prospect Park. Participants complete the race with a final sprint up Center Drive. The event utilizes a pace-based corral system for the start, with assignments from AA through F based on the runner's indicated pace.

A Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and serves as the central hub for race day activities. This area provides access to bag check services, portable bathrooms, and the bib distribution point. Athletes are provided with water and electrolyte fluids at stations along the course and at the finish line. Post-race refreshments include bagels with schmear and fresh fruit.

All finishers receive a medal and a technical fabric T-shirt. Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers and the top three in various age groups for male, female, and non-binary categories. The race also offers prize money to eligible members who meet specific time standards and ranking criteria. mass transit is recommended for arrival, with nearby subway access via the S, Q, F, and G lines.
