NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K Benefiting CAMBA
NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K is a USATF certified 5K held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The course covers just under a full loop around the park and finishes with a final stretch up Center Drive. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is the point for bib pickup, gear check, participant shirt distribution, and post race amenities.
The event benefits CAMBA, a community organization that provides services including food assistance, homelessness prevention, affordable housing, adult literacy, job readiness and college access programs. The organizer lists suggested donation impacts at several levels, from baby supply packages to college access support.
On race day the event offers bag check (single clear bag required, subject to inspection), portable bathrooms on course and in the Festival Area, a tech participant shirt available for race day pickup only, a finisher medal, and post race bagel options and fruit. Race photos are provided after the event via a third party photo service.
Bibs are available for pickup in the Festival Area on race day by presenting a unique QR code; members may opt to have bibs mailed in advance under specified conditions. Mass transit is recommended; nearby subway and bus stops and Citi Bike stations are identified. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are included and have specific arrival and start line procedures to ensure safety.
Awards are given to top overall finishers by gender category and to age group top three placers by net time. Registration availability may close earlier if capacity is reached. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
