NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K
NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K takes place on April 11, 2027 in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The event benefits CAMBA, a community organization serving over 80,000 people annually; donation examples include $250 for baby supplies, $500 for emergency food, $1,000 for job training, and $2,500 for college access support.
The course covers just under one full loop around the park with a final sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF-certified. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive; the race finishes on Center Drive adjacent to the Festival Area.
Race operations use a pace-based corral system with lettered corrals AA through F. Bibs are available for pick up in the Festival Area on race day with a required QR code; NYCRUNS members may receive mailed bibs when eligible and mailing requires registration at least 20 days before the event and a U.S. mailing address. Participant shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. A finisher medal is awarded at completion. Photos are emailed after the event and one image can be downloaded free.
Amenities include a bag check using a single clear bag (18 x 24 in), portable bathrooms in the Festival Area and on course, and post-race bagels and a NY State apple. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are accepted and designation can be changed in the runner profile.
Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time and to top three finishers by net time in multiple age groups. Policies include no refunds or transfers, no strollers or dogs, restrictions on earbuds or headphones that impair awareness, a prohibition on confetti cannons, and enforced course time limits.
