NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5K : April 12, 2026
The event is a 5K road race in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY, benefiting CAMBA. CAMBA serves over 80,000 people a year and the race page lists example donation impacts, such as providing baby supplies for families in shelters, funding emergency food distribution, supporting job training and Home Health Aide certification, and helping high school seniors through a college access program. Registration uses tiered pricing with discounted member rates.
Course, logistics and amenities
The course covers just under one full loop of Prospect Park with a final sprint up Center Drive and is USATF-certified. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive; the race finishes on Center Drive near the Festival Area. Start corrals are pace-based and assigned by letter (AA-F); assignments appear on the bib and the corrals are located on Well House Drive.
Race-day services include bag check (single clear bag required; provided if needed, 18" x 24"), portable bathrooms, on-course water and electrolyte fluids, cans of smartwater at the finish, and post-race refreshments such as bagels with schmear and fresh fruit. Swag distribution includes a Tech Shirt and a Finisher Medal; shirt sizes are not guaranteed and shirts are distributed on race day. Photos will be available from MarathonFoto. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are accepted; athletes in those divisions are given specific bib-pickup and start-line instructions. Results are emailed and posted online; awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall (by gun time) and to age-group top three finishers (by net time) across standard age brackets.
