This event is a half marathon held in Central Park. The course starts on East Drive before the 72nd Street Transverse, includes two loops of the park with a cut through on the 102nd Street Transverse for the first loop, and finishes back on the 102nd Street Transverse after a final run up East Drive. Runners pass the Harlem Hills only once. The course is USATF certified.
The event uses a pace based corral system with lettered corrals AA through F located on Well House Drive; corral assignment is taken from the participant’s NYCRUNS dashboard. Bibs are distributed in the Festival Area on race day and require a unique QR code for pickup; NYCRUNS members who meet the mailing deadline and a U.S. mailing address may have bibs mailed in advance. Race shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed.
Support on course includes water and electrolyte fluids, portable bathrooms, bag check with a single clear bag requirement, and post race refreshments including bagels and fresh fruit. MarathonFoto provides a complimentary race photo with options to purchase more. Prize money is available for athletes who meet published time and eligibility criteria; awards are given to top overall and age group finishers across male, female, and nonbinary divisions. Strollers and dogs are not permitted and standard no refunds, no transfers policies apply; members have specific withdrawal options for race credit.
