NYCRUNS Central Park Half Marathon
The event is a USATF-certified half marathon held in Central Park, New York. The course begins on East Drive near 68th Street, follows two loops of the park with a cut through at the 102nd Street Transverse on the first loop, and finishes back on the 102nd Street Transverse. Runners pass the Harlem Hills only once.
Start corrals are assigned by pace with letters AA through F and the entry lane to the corrals is located on East Drive near 67th Street. Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are advised to consider alternative NYCRUNS events because this is a multi-loop course.
On-site amenities include a bag check that requires one clear bag (18 x 24) with reserved right to search contents, portable bathrooms, and hydration stations offering water and electrolyte fluids on course and at the finish. Post-race refreshments include additional hydration, bagels with schmear, and fresh fruit. Race giveaway items are a finisher medal and an official race shirt; shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed.
Bib pick-up happens in the Festival Area beginning on race day; bibs require a unique QR code and may be mailed in advance to NYCRUNS members or for an additional fee to non-members if rules for mailing are met. Results are emailed and posted online. Awards and prize money are available with detailed eligibility criteria and age group categories.
