NYC Summer Half and 5 Miler
The NYC Summer Half and 5 Miler takes place in New York's Central Park. The event starts and finishes at the 102nd Street Crossing and East Drive. Participants navigate a course that includes running north over the Great Hill before heading south on West Drive to Terrace Drive. Runners then cross the park to East Drive and return north to the starting area.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 5 miles
The half marathon distance consists of two loops, while the 5 Miler completes the first loop of the course. Every loop is timed in real time, providing runners with two split times and a final finishing time. Water stations are positioned approximately every 2 miles along the route, offering water, sports drinks, gels, and fruit such as bananas and oranges.
Participants receive a technical t-shirt with male and female cuts, a die-cast medal with a color ribbon, and a bib with an attached timing chip. Runners who register at least four weeks in advance receive a personalized bib. Following the race, a celebration is held featuring bagels with various spreads, organic jelly, and peanut butter. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in age groups ranging from 14-19 to 75-79.
