The NYC Spring 10K and 5K
The NYC Spring 10K and 5K takes place in Riverside Park, located between the Upper West Side and the Hudson River. This park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and features various walking and biking paths along the Manhattan waterfront. The course passes over the Freedom Tunnel.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K (one loop)
- 10K (two loops)
The event utilizes electronic timing with chips attached to the bibs. For accurate data, participants must wear the bib on the front of their torso. The timing system provides split times for each loop and a final result in real-time. Water stations are positioned approximately every 1.5 miles along the route, offering water, electrolyte gels, and sports drinks.
Available amenities for participants include a technical T-shirt with specific male and female cuts and a die-cast medal with a color ribbon. Those who register at least four weeks in advance receive a commemorative bib. A limited baggage check service is available upon request, where a tear-off tag from the bib is used to secure personal items.
After the run, a celebration includes bagels with various spreads, organic jelly, peanut butter, and fruit. Awards and plaques are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 14 to over 70.
