NYC Race of Hope to Defeat Depression : New York City
The NYC Race of Hope is a 5k run/walk around Central Park held on May 10, 2026. The event is organized at the Davis Center, 106-51 East Drive, New York, NY 10026, and is described as a rain or shine event. Participants may walk or run the course; baby strollers are allowed with a note that the course has an incline. Dogs are not permitted at the Davis Center. The date may be subject to change and no refunds are offered.
All registration fees and funds raised through the event are directed to depression research. The event includes a fundraising challenge with awards for top fundraisers and largest teams; top fundraisers in each category receive prize packs. Student Ambassador roles are used to share information within local communities and to raise awareness about mental health.
Packet pickup benefits are specified for early collectors: the first 300 participants to pick up a race packet receive a race kit that includes a shirt, hat, and race bib. Finisher medals are provided for all racers. The race brings together teens, families, and educators from New York City schools as part of efforts to raise awareness and funds for research into depression.
