NSRF Woolly Mammoth 5K & 10K
The NSRF Woolly Mammoth is a road running event at Veterans Pier in Brooklyn on January 2, 2027. Registration is not yet open; a notification option is offered for when registration opens. The event is the first stop of the NYC Parks Winter Series and includes a free Kiddie Dash held prior to the main races.
Distances:
- 5K One loop out and back along the shore.
- 10K Two loops out and back along the shore, same U turn point as the 5K.
Wheelchair participants are welcome, though several tight 180 degree turns mean the course may not be ideally suited for wheelchair racers. The 10K has a cutoff of 1 hour and 40 minutes. Course acknowledgement notes Munsee Lenape / Canarsie lands.
Amenities include an informal bag check area, bathrooms a few minutes walk from the start and finish, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants may receive a Woolly Mammoth tee and a finisher medal. Bibs can be picked up in person from event staff or mailed for a $10 fee if registered at least 10 days in advance; mailed bibs begin shipping on the first day of the event.
A virtual participation option is available; virtual entrants have the event start day plus one week to log their time and may upload photos. One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
