About the race
The NSRF Woolly Mammoth 5K and 10K is a winter road running event at Veterans Pier in Brooklyn on January 2, 2027. It is the first stop of the NYC Parks Winter Series and offers in-person and virtual participation options.
Distances
- 5K Run/Walk : one loop out and back along the shore.
- 10K Run/Walk : two loops out and back along the shore; cutoff 1 hour & 40 minutes.
Wheelchair participants are welcome, though the course has several tight 180-degree turns that may not be ideally suited for wheelchair racers. A free Kiddie Dash is held before the main races.
Amenities include a Woolly Mammoth tee and finisher medal, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. An informal bag check area will be available in the staging area; bathrooms are a few minutes' walk from the start and finish. Results are posted live online, with email and text options and same-day finish line photos; additional event photos are posted online.
Registration is not yet open. In-person bib pickup is available on race day and a mailed bib option costs $10 if registered at least 10 days in advance. Virtual participants have from the first day of the event and a full week to log times and may upload photos.
One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that supports athletic and charitable programs and athlete development. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
