NSRF Woolly Mammoth 5K & 10K
The event on January 2, 2027 at Veterans Pier in Brooklyn is the first stop of the NYC Parks Winter Series. Runners may choose between a 5K or a 10K course along the shore. A free Kiddie Dash takes place before the main races.
Distances:
- 5K One loop out and back along the shore.
- 10K Two loops out and back along the shore. Cutoff for the 10K is 1 hour & 40 minutes.
Wheelchair participants are welcome; however, the course includes several tight 180 degree turns that may make it less suitable for wheelchair racing. Age group online recognition is awarded to the top overall finishers and the top finishers in these age groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90+.
Amenities include an informal bag check area, nearby bathrooms, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. There is a virtual participation option that allows entrants a full week from the first day of the event to log a time and upload up to five photos; event items begin shipping on the first day of the event.
Bib options: a mailed bib is available for $10 if registration occurs at least 10 days before the race. Limited street parking is available near the pier and public transportation is encouraged.
