Strawberry Fest 5K and 5 Miler in Forest Park, Queens
This community running event takes place in Forest Park, Queens on Munsee Lenape and Canarsie lands. It offers two distance options:
- 5K
- 5 Miler
The course layouts are out and back loops. The 5K includes a short 0.3 mile out and back plus one additional out and back loop. The 5 Miler consists of two out and back loops. Runners on multi loop courses must run through the finish line timing mats on each loop for accurate split times and synced photos.
Event amenities include an informal bag check area, restrooms a short walk from the start and finish, hydration at the finish line, and refreshments provided by event sponsors. Participants receive a medal and a tee. Results are posted live online and are also sent by email or text; finish line photos and same day video are available.
There is a free kiddie fun run. A virtual participation option is available and virtual competitors have one week from the event start to log times and upload photos; event items begin shipping on the first day of the event. Bib pickup can be done in person before the event or mailed for a $10 fee if registered at least ten days in advance.
One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports athletic and charitable activities and athlete development. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
