Event Overview
The Never Stop Running Foundation presents The Rainbow Run 5K, a community event held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. This pride-themed run serves to support and bring awareness to PFY, a division of the Long Island Crisis Center that provides health and wellness services for LGBTQ+ individuals.
Course and Location
The event takes place at Eisenhower Park, a 930-acre recreation area in Nassau County. Participants will gather at Field 2, using Parking Lot 2 for access. The 5K course is USATF certified and the event is held rain or shine.
Participation Options
There are two primary ways to participate in the event:
- 5K Run/Walk: An in-person 5 km event open to runners and walkers.
- Virtual 5K: A remote option allowing participants to complete the distance between June 20 and June 28 and upload their results online.
- Kiddie Fun Run: A free event for children held shortly before the main 5K.
Amenities and Awards
Participants receive a pride-themed soft blend t-shirt and can opt to have their name printed on their bib if they register at least three weeks in advance. An informal bag check area is provided in the staging area, and bathrooms are located within a short walk of the start and finish lines. Refreshments, including sparkling water and bakery products, are provided at the finish line.
Awards are presented to the top female, male, and non-binary (X) finishers overall. Age group awards are also available for categories ranging from 14 and under to 90 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
