NSRF Presents The Rainbow Run 5K
The Rainbow Run 5K is presented by NSRF and takes place at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York, on Field 2 near Parking Lot 2. The event includes a main 5K and a free kiddie fun run held as part of the same event.
The event benefits PFY, a division of the Long Island Crisis Center. One hundred percent of donations and a portion of proceeds support PFY, which provides services and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning individuals. PFY focuses on education, supportive services, and personal development to enhance community health and wellness.
Onsite amenities include an informal bag check area, bathrooms within a few minutes walk of the start and finish, hydration at the finish line, and postrace refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Free finish line photos are provided. A Pride soft blend tee is available for participants. A virtual option is offered; virtual participants have from the first day of the event and a full week to log a time and upload up to five photos. Virtual items begin shipping the first day of the event.
Awards are given to the top overall finishers in female, male, and nonbinary categories and to the top finisher in each listed age group, including 14 and under through 90 plus.
The race course is set within Eisenhower Park and the Merrick Lands area. In-person bib pickup is handled by event staff on the event day, and bibs can be mailed in advance for a $10 fee if registration is completed at least ten days before the event. Virtual bibs are mailed when race gear ships; allow 3 to 5 days for late mailing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
