About the race
The Rainbow Run 5K Presented by NSRF is a community road race held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. The event supports and raises awareness for LGBT+ youth mental health across Long Island. The primary distance is 5K, and a free kiddie fun run is offered as part of the event program. A virtual option is available; participants have from the first day of the event and a full week to log a time and upload up to five photos, and race items begin shipping on the event start day.
Amenities include an informal bag check area, bathrooms within a few minutes' walk of the start and finish, hydration at the finish line, and post-race refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Finish line photos are provided free on the event platform. A PRIDE soft blend tee is offered as race merchandise.
Award categories recognize the top overall finishers and top age-group finishers. Overall awards are given to the top male, female, and nonbinary finishers. Age-group awards are listed for 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90 and over.
